Privacy notice
This notice explains how Strand Tutors Ltd collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, make an enquiry, or enrol a student in our tuition. We keep it short and in plain English because we would rather you actually read it.
Who we are
Strand Tutors Ltd is the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17416472, with a registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. You can contact us about anything in this notice at info@strandtutors.co.uk or on 07443 921965.
What we collect and why

We do not ask for, and please do not send us, detailed medical, safeguarding or diagnostic information through the website form. If there is something we need to know to support a student, tell us in person or by phone.
Children’s information
Our tuition is for school-age students, so we hold some information about children. We collect it from the parent or carer, not from the child, and we only use it to teach and safeguard the student and to report progress to you. We never publish a student’s name, image or results without your written permission.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information and we do not share it for marketing. The only organisations that process it on our behalf are:
- Google (Gmail), which delivers enquiry and confirmation emails.
- IONOS, which hosts this website. Form submissions pass through its servers but are not stored there.
We may also share information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect a child.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to enrolment: deleted 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Student records, progress reports and attendance: kept for the period of tuition and 12 months afterwards, then deleted.
- Records we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons, such as payment records: 6 years.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you or your child, to correct it, to delete it, to stop using it, or to give you a copy in a portable format. You can object to any processing based on our legitimate interests. To use any of these rights, email info@strandtutors.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are sent to a password-protected mailbox with two-step verification. Student records are kept only by the two tutors and are not shared with anyone else.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal information we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell enrolled families directly.
